Christy Danko Graybeal, Ph.D. is an associate professor of education and mathematics at Hood College.  There, for the past eight years, she has taught courses in both mathematics content and mathematics pedagogy.  She received her undergraduate degree in elementary education and mathematics from Moravian College, her master’s degree in mathematics from American University, and her doctorate in curriculum and instruction with a concentration in mathematics education from the University of Maryland.  She is a former middle school mathematics teacher for Montgomery County Public Schools.  During the 2016-2017 academic year she is on sabbatical leave from Hood College so that she can conduct research on fostering curiosity about mathematics.
